چکیده
Radio sources with steep spectra are preferentially associated the most distant galaxies, $\alpha-z$ relation, but reason for this relation is an open question. The spatial distribution of in high-z radio can be used to study and low-frequency observations particularly important understanding particle acceleration injection mechanisms. However, small angular sizes together inherently low resolution telescopes until now has prevented high objects. Here we present subarcsecond a $z = 2.4$ galaxy at frequencies between $121$ MHz $166$ MHz. We measure spectra, discuss implications models relation. targeted 4C 43.15 High Band Antennas (HBAs) \textit{International LOFAR Telescope} (ILT) range baselines up $1300\ \mathrm{km}$. On the Selection of High-z Quasars Using LOFAR Observations
We present a method to identify candidate quasars which combines optical/infrared color selection with radio detections from the Low Frequency ARray (LOFAR) at 150 MHz. We apply this method in a region of 9 square degrees located in the Boötes field, with a wealth of multi-wavelength data. Our LOFAR imaging in the central region reaches a rms noise of ∼ 50μJy with a resolution of 5. This is so ...
متن کاملNear-Infrared Observations of Powerful High-Redshift Radio Galaxies: 4C 40.36 and 4C 39.37 1,2
We present near-infrared imaging and spectroscopic observations of two FR II high-redshift radio galaxies (HzRGs), 4C 40.36 (z = 2.3) and 4C 39.37 (z = 3.2), obtained with the Hubble, Keck, and Hale Telescopes. High resolution images were taken with filters both in and out of strong emission lines, and together with the spectroscopic data, the properties of the line and continuum emissions were...
متن کاملHigh - resolution radio observations of RCW 49
High-resolution radio continuum observations of the southern H II complex RCW 49 are presented. The observations were carried out with the Molonglo Observatory Synthesis Telescope (MOST) at 0.843 GHz, and the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) at 1.38 and 2.38 GHz. Two wind-blown shells have been discovered in the core region of RCW 49, the more massive of which surrounds the Westerlund 2...
متن کاملHigh-resolution Observations of Psr B1828−11
We present high-time-resolution observations of the young precessing pulsar B1828−11, which yield clues to the true beam shape and the fundamental precession period.
متن کاملHigh-resolution radio observations of submillimetre galaxies
We have produced sensitive, high-resolution radio maps of 12 submillimetre (submm) galaxies (SMGs) in the Lockman Hole using combined Multi-Element Radio-Linked Interferometer Network (MERLIN) and Very Large Array (VLA) data at a frequency of 1.4 GHz. Integrating for 350 hr yielded an r.m.s. noise of 6.0μJy beam and a resolution of 0.2–0.5 arcsec. For the first time, wide-field data from the tw...
